Ford Farm development
Latest update from County Councillors Mike Rigby and Andy Sully regarding proposed Ford Farm development
Published: 31 January 2026
The Ford Farm development has been put on hold as new flood alleviation proposals are being considered.
The Environment Agency have objected to the scheme stating that the existing approval for flood alleviation has expired and the developers have not proved that the development will not cause flooding to the east or west of the site. A new flood alleviation application needs to be submitted. The site lies within Flood Zone 3b a functional flood plain and is land which is designated as having a high risk of flooding. The full letter from the Environment Agency is attached. The Parish Council voted to support the Environment Agency and therefore have also objected to the application. The Parish Council’s letter of objection is also attached.
